FAQ

Ordering & General Questions

How much advance notice do you need to accommodate an order?

We ask for a minimum 7 business day advance notice for any order, excluding wedding cakes. If an order is more intricate, including sculpting work, fondant, or faux tiers, we encourage a two-week notice, however, we can only do so many specialty cakes in a weekend and our demand is very high so the sooner you can get your order in the better prepared we can be to fulfill your order. (It never hurts to call and ask!)

A 3-6 month lead time for wedding cakes should be sufficient with the exceptions of mid May through mid July and mid September through mid November. Peak wedding times in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metro area (May-August, November-Jan 1st) we would like a 9-12 month lead time. Again, please call even if the time is close to your wedding date, it’s never bad to call and ask us to do a last minute wedding cake, it’s been done before!!

How do I get a quote?

Please contact us to get the process started. We only provide quotes via email.

Can I place an order via email?

No. We are more than happy to answer any questions and review design photos via email and give you quotes, however, it is required that you call or come in person to order your custom cake and/or cupcakes (that was given via emailed quote). We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book any order.

Can I place an order over the phone?

Yes! As long as we have provided a quote via email, you can call begin the 50% required retainer/deposit process or pay the amount in full. All payments are made via an emailed invoice only.

Can I cancel my order?

We completely get it, we change our minds too! While we wish could, once an order is placed, we are unable to alter or cancel it within 7 business days. If you place a 50% deposit, this is non-refundable. If you pay in full, 50% of the full payment (deposit) and the order is not within 7 business days of pickup, the other 50% can be used as a store credit only. We do not offer refunds.

Is my event date available?

Due to the intense attention to detail and superior taste we strive to serve, we may choose to put a cap on the amount of orders we accommodate for party and/or wedding orders. To see if your event date is available, please call us at (817) 617-2599.

If I provide you with a photo, can you recreate it?

Absolutely! Just provide a photo of what you’re wanting the cake to resemble. We can also help you design a custom cake using several photos for inspiration. Disclaimer: If it’s not our photo, we can’t guarantee exact details to be the same!

Can I place a special order for same-day pickup?

Short answer, no. All of our items — with the exception of our everyday favorites we keep in our cases up front — we require at least 2-3 days notice for custom orders in more circumstances. However, you can order through UberEats or DoorDash!

Can you make the frosting less-sweet?

Short answer, no.

How sweet or salty things we eat, are subjective to each and every person. As we all have different taste-buds, likes and dislikes, we couldn't possibly accommodate every person's specific request of how sweet icings are.

We offer several types of icings. Here are what we offer and a brief description:
Buttercream (most common): Sweet, creamy, mixture of butter, confectioners sugar, milk, and salt. Can melt in hot sunlight.
Rolled Fondant:Sweet sugar dough that looks like porcelain when it dries. Can be used for indoor or outdoor weddings. The fondant doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
Royal Icing:Blended sugar with water and meringue powder that creates a thick frosting to create lace or latticework. Often used when frosting decorated sugar cookies. We do not use this icing on cakes!Merengue Buttercream:Made with egg whites, sugar, unsalted butter, and salt. It’s an airy buttercream that is light, commonly called whipped cream. The rich taste will melt in direct sunlight. We do not offer this on custom orders, only dessert-style cakes.

Are you able to print images on my cake?

Yes, we do offer the option to print photos on cakes. Some designs are not encouraged to incorporate images as the look of the cake may become tacky. We love beautiful cakes, not tacky cakes!

How do I carry my cake home?

Be sure that your vehicle is large enough and has a flat, level space with access to air-conditioning for the duration of the ride. If your cake is a smaller single tier, it should fit on the floorboard of your vehicle. It is good to have an extra person with you for stacked, multi-tiered cakes to help you load and unload the cake. (Not to ride in their lap.) Use your AC year-round, but especially in the summer Texas heat. Drive slowly and directly to your destination – no sharp turns, no pit stops. Once at your destination, refrigerate until the start of your event. Please be mindful to keep anything with icing or chocolate out of and away from direct sunlight.

Will my cake/order come in a box?

Yes! However, there are not custom made boxes for each custom ordered cake. In the case that your cake will not fit in a closed box, we recommend either taping the lid to cover as much as possible OR cutting the side off altogether in order to prevent the box from harming the cake in any way. For tiered cake we offer a tiered cake box (the lid may not be able to come with it depending on the height). Please note that this means that your cake could be exposed to the open air in your vehicle, but no more than it will be at your party location.
